Australian Capital Territory (ACT) has suspended applications for 489 and 190 sponsorship. This does not affect those currently residing in the ACT. A revised list of occupations in demand is due to be released after 1 July 2017. Applications for state sponsorship may open again after this is date.
Northern Territory (NT) has suspended applications for 489 and 190 sponsorship. This does not affect those currently residing in the NT. Applications for state sponsorship may open again after 1 July 2017.
Queensland (QLD) has suspended applications for 489 and 190 sponsorship due to having reached their DIBP allocated ceiling. This includes all 190 pathways, including PhD and Masters. There is no date set when the nomination process will re-open. A revised list of occupations in demand is due to be released after 1 July 2017. Applications for state sponsorship may open again after this date.
Western Australia (WA) has a very limited list for some medical professionals who may apply for state sponsorship. All other occupations are currently under review. A new occupation in demand list is due to be released towards the end of May 2017.
Victoria (VIC), South Australia (SA) and New South Wales (NSW) all remain open and accepting applications for state sponsorship.
